CoffeeBar was created by people who have worked inside cafés and seen firsthand how much time owners spend on pricing calculations that should take seconds. Our tools handle the math so operators can focus on their customers and their product.
Our Values
Every calculation uses the correct formula for the metric it produces. We do not round up or simplify in ways that mislead the user.
No input data is transmitted to our servers. All calculations happen in your browser. We do not know what you entered or what you sell.
Our tools are and will remain free to use. Independent café operators should not need a paid subscription to access basic business math.
Defaults, labels, and benchmarks are built around the café industry. This is not a generic finance calculator with a coffee theme applied.
The Team
Nathan spent seven years managing operations for a four-location café group in Chicago before building CoffeeBar. He designed the margin calculator based on the exact workflows he used daily to evaluate menu changes.
Sophie brings a background in hospitality data analytics and previously built reporting tools for a regional restaurant group covering 31 locations. She designed the underlying calculation models for both CoffeeBar tools.
James has contributed to café industry publications for nine years and runs a consultancy focused on independent food and beverage operators. He oversees all CoffeeBar editorial content and industry benchmarking.
